CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
Artist
led initiative is looking for volunteers to bring the project to
completion.
The Borderline/ Performance Festival is a small
scale multiple site international live art festival taking place in
Norwich in June 2013. The festival is organised by third year visual
studies student and performer Elena Italia. The project aims to
promote challenging contemporary art practice, encourage the travel
of artists to Norwich and present an artist-led alternative to
traditional arts festivals.
The project is entirely run on a
volunteer basis, the artists are performing in kind to support the
event, and the festival is still seeking sponsorship and funding. The
festival is therefore looking to recruit volunteers to help with the
organisation and delivery of the event. Anyone with time to spare and
a will to get involved is welcome, although creative individuals with
design or photography skills and persons with experience in event
management would be particularly appreciated. Below are listed some
of the positions the festival would like to recruit.
Crew/
Runners:
the event
is looking to recruit volunteers to help with the artists setting up
and taking down of the work. Individuals volunteering in this
position would work with a professional event manager, AV technicians
and artists and gain experience and insight in the set up of an
event.
Promotion
and Distribution :
the
project is also hoping to recruit volunteers to help distribute
flyers and posters and generally promote the event . This role's
responsibilities may involve liaising with the press or uploading
online listings. This position would suit individuals interested in
learning skills and gaining experience in the promotion field
Documentation
team :
the
festival offered to provide documentation to some of the artists
travelling from abroad, and is now looking to recruit photographers
and film makers interested in performance documentation to cover the
whole of the event. Film and video students are particularly welcome
to apply for these positions.
Stage managers:
Each
of the festival's venues will require a stage manager ( or front of
house ) to look after the running of the event. Individuals with
experience in event or stage management would be extremely welcome to
volunteer in these positions, but individuals with an interest but no
experience in the field are welcome to apply too.
Site
manager
The
festival is finally hoping to recruit someone to work in conjunction
with the organisers to overlook the overall running of the event on
the night and help with the coordination of the event itself.
If
you are interested in volunteering in any of those positions or would
just like to help us please email
borderlineperformancefestival@gmail.com
or elenaitalia@live.com
Cvs and other supporting information are very welcome too.
